The Giant TCR has it's new Mavic Ksyriums fitted, new bar tape and all the cabling redone. It's obviously riding well as this was the first real ride the new wheels got and I got 30 odd PR's on STRAVA on my run.
I am a bit behind in the fitness and leg miles stakes than I was at this time last year. Hoping to build the miles up over the next few weeks in preparation for the Etape in May.

Got some new Mavic Kysrium Elites. Here they are the last time they'll ever look this new.

Sorn Circle

Headed out with my fellow 'Stomach' rider Tony yesterday to show him some of the wilds of East East Ayrshire. Very windy at times but with it at the tail it was a great run. Some great parts of this circle are on fresh tarmac(almost) car free surfaces which is great on the backside!
Highly enjoyable ride with good company (even for a LONE biker)!

So far

Took my longest run of the year so far today. Managed 86km with a loose spoke making an annoying noise for about 70 of them!
Headed over to the A77 where I took up the Braveheart route for a while before heading back home via Kilmarnock up the A71.
Very cold but thanks to a pair of "grampa" socks I found for sale in Tesco my feet stayed relatively warm.
The weather has been rotten so I welcomed the sunshine and the chance to do some exercise that didn't involve some sort of instructor and circuits.

More wind and rain

I managed my 600km Prove It challenge on STRAVA last month so had a weekend off last weekend. Headed out this weekend on the recently refurbished CUBE to find the weather just as freezing,wet, and windy as it was in January. Still KOM of the Chris Hoy Cycleway though!

Miles and KM's

I have been getting the miles in in January, firstly to build the fitness levels back up and also to try and complete the STRAVA 600km challenge. I am at 409km so far so hopefully will get it completed over the next week.
No amazing rides to note. Went out with Loudoun Road Club last Sunday and did a Strathaven Muirkirk loop this Sunday with a stop in Sorn for Cake and coffee.

Evening All

Headed out on the road for my first proper night ride of 2014. Went out with my new lights up the A77 which was great as it is completely separate from the traffic. My headlights and helmet lamp provided excellent vision on a clear evening. I was joined by fellow Stomach rider Tony so it was a good ride for a natter as a well as some bonus miles!
